It is actually interesting as to how many Americans died while traveling to the UK between January 2003 and December 2016:

Vehicle Accident – 39
Suicide - 32
Other Accident - 27
Vehicle Accident (Pedestrian) - 8
Air Accident – 3
Homicide – 3
Maritime Accident – 2
Drowning – 2
Undetermined/unknown – 1
Drug-Related – 1
Terrorist Action – 1

The sole death of an American by terrorist action in the UK was the 7/7 suicide bombings in 2005 which I remember well as I was in London that day.
