I am going to visit Germany at the weekend and I need internet access. Is free WiFi generally available in cafes and bars? |

I was in Germany a few weeks ago and the answer I found is it depends. In the larger cities, I found shopping malls, cafes and hotels would offer free WiFi, but you would need to register first and the 'free' period would be limited to say 3 hours. Some of towns along the Rhine offered free WiFi in the main pedestrian areas. I would ask the café/bar if they offer WiFi. If they do, then they'll normally give you the network code when you make a purchase. |
