Sadly it appears that Adam West, best known for his role as Batman in the sixties has past away aged eighty Eight…

One of the true greats from my (and many others) childhood, he was a genuinely funny man who was not afraid to take the mickey out of himself.

He will be sadly missed. "some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!".

Cheers Roger.

My first and favorite super hero. My Mother said when I was about a year and a half old, she was changing my diaper and Batman was just coming on the TV. I started to sing along with the theme. When I was three, she sewed me a Batman outfit that I would wear for the next three Halloweens. The show was just great and Adam West is and always shall be the only Batman. RIP.

Joker, that's a GREAT story! Thank you for sharing it. thumbs up

The GREAT Adam West. Like Joker, his incarnation of Batman was my very first and most favorite super hero. I'm sure like most of us fans here, I can't tell y'all how many times as a kid I spent endless weekday afternoons after school watching the "Dynamic Duo" duke it out with the villains of Gotham City. Such fun and memorable times.

Just yesterday morning I was watching one of Mr. West's early features, 'Robinson Crusoe on Mars'. You want your heroes to go on forever, but 88 is a good, long life, hopefully well-lived. Thanks to technology, Mr. West and his performances will go on forever.

Godspeed, Mr. West, and thank you VERY, very much.

Holy sad events batman !

Adam West – was a huge part of so many childhoods. And great in Family Guy too.

Dim the bat signal, we won't be needing it tonight.

That was Family Guy,Bandit. Grew up watching him as Batman. Also was in a short lived TV cop comedy,The Last Precinct, and played against type in Zombie Nightmare. Even did a failed TV pilot in the early '60s with William Shatner, "Alexander The Great". Rest easy, and thanks.
