I've been seeing and clicking on some of the recent music related threads here on TMP and decided to start one of my own. I stumbled across this you-tube video of a bunch of teenagers playing 46 + 2 by Tool. It is a USA based music foundation that teaches kids to play live Rock. The kids do a really nice job. The Bass player plays like he's got 8 or 10 fingers on each hand and the drummer is just a beast. YouTube link The second one is a video that was a "suggestion" listed on the page of the above video. It is a 15 or 16-year old young lady from Germany who is quite a nice percussionist. There are several videos of her playing the percussion track to Pop, Rock and other tunes. This particular track is Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. YouTube link And another of her playing the drum track to Sultans Of Swing by Dire Straits. YouTube link |

This is already a few years old. The singer, albeit still young, is pursuing a professional career with her band. link To me, the bassist and drummer really rock out this song. My understanding was that Tool was also very impressed with this cover. Thanks for the link to the German drummer girl. Very nice too. |
