Maybe the cycle will continue.

A few years ago, we learned that red wine was good for you, as well as a "few" beers. Than within the last week, it seems that salt is OK, that dairy fat is really innocuous.
By the way, ibuprofen can increase your risk of a heart attack by up to 50%.

So. Are cigarettes good for you now?

"By the way, ibuprofen can increase your risk of a heart attack by up to 50%."

From the British Heart Foundation:

For most people, particularly the under-65s and those without heart problems, the answer is no. The study showed that the risk is still very small for most people. Most people under 65 are not at risk of heart failure unless they have heart problems already.

The research suggests that the increase in risk is about 37.5 admissions for heart failure per 10,000 person years – a relatively small number.

As for alcohol, it's been known to increase low density lipoproteins (good cholesterol) for about 50 years now. That has some benefit in reducing heart attacks. The same link has a good "behind the headlines" article on alcohol and heart disease.

…..Than within the last week, it seems that salt is OK,

I'd still stick with the AHA recommendations. Here is a list of their BP myths, and management tips. I doubt they think typical salt consumption levels is OK:

I suggest smoking crack. It's good for your teeth.

I got a carton of cigarettes. The old man grabbed me and said, "Hey, smoke up Johnny."

Winston,

Just wait a few months. A new study will come out soon and those scientific geniuses will say that the previous study was all wrong or, more likely, they will say that it was simply misunderstood by the public.

I want a study on how many stupid studies there are, and how much money is constantly wasted on them (presumably by people with the brightest minds and highest ethics).
