YouTube link This is really great epic music, and when you have your computer playing it, and your WiFi DVD player around the corner in the livingroom playing it, it syncs! Maybe you guys knew that. I didn't. I've often gotten a YouTube track going on both devices and synchronized them by going back and forth and pausing the one slightly ahead of the other, until they are within c. a half a second of being exactly the same. It sounds very cool to have that much music filling the house…………. |

It isn't perfect. My DVD WiFi just started up the next track c. half a second ahead of my 'puter. I'll wait and see if it gets worse or syncs itself. Right now, the echo effect is pretty cool! |

Aaand, the fly in the ointment is, Adblock Plus: I have it on my 'puter, but of course not my DVD player as it accesses my YouTube account. So, after several tracks, the live stream on the DVD WiFi connection wanted to play an ad. Somehow, the ad hung fire; I suspected that the simultaneous nature of two devices accessing the same WiFi caused the DVD WiFi to "load" the ad, and it kept "loading" and "loading" and "loading", because of Adblock Plus on the 'puter. Meanwhile around the corner my 'puter kept happily playing the live stream. I clicked "HOME" on the DVD player and the ad came on. Ah, not "WTH!?", but my theory seems to be right: the ad hung up the DVD WiFi connection. I hit "HOME" again, reconnected to YouTube, clicked the live stream channel, "Skipped" the ad, and immediately the DVD player WiFi started in sync with the 'puter WiFi. Until the next ad, of course, and then I'll have to do this all over again, so I must suppose………. *sigh* |
