Every answer: Not a fan.

It's Windows. I am not a fan of the busy menus and the highly graphical look. OToH, I did quite like Windows 7. I thought everything they did with that OS was a move in the right direction.

No, I only use windows to update my Sat Nav maps otherwise I've been using Linux for the last 7+ years.

No particular angst, it is the OS, it does its job. After having it for a year and a halfish, it is what I use to do the stuff I want to look at, which is what I expect all operating systems to be like… I don't pick an OS for what I see, I pick one that lets me do what I want/need to do.

Linux? Nah. MacOS? Heck nah.

better than Windows 8 which was awful. Unfortunately it does have some issues with profiles that can cause the need for a rebuild. Win 7 much better, as is the Mac OS.

While I agree with most of what's been said, I was talking specifically about, when idled, the lovely postcard images, and the question asked.

I actually admit they're quite lovely, but each is Micro$oft's choice, some outright links to advertisement, most links to that unpleasant Edge and repugnant Bing.

In other words, everything is M$'s choice, none of mine, and I'm not a fan of that.

I always click 'Not a fan' until M$ gives up.

However, Sergeant, I will respond with 'I used to do more, quicker, with 7.'

No.

We use mainly Ubuntu Linux at home. The kids don't know any different. Minor problems when my wife has to do work for school but then her school gives her a laptop…which runs windows.

you can turn off all those postcards (tiles) – I do on my Win 10 machine at work. Also, whilst Edge and Bing are crap, it's easy enough to install chrome.

Not its "SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED" NETIO.SYS error, from which it never seems to get around to restarting by itself…

if got window 10, best to install a third party piece of software that blocks the data win10 send back to redmond.

there is a fairly simple way of using MS powershell to remove some of the other garage pre-installed by MS.
