My VP works remotely… a lot. So we don't see much of him. But this week, I encountered a new device in his on site office. A mobile virtual presence device. Almost straight out of Big Bang Theory.

This is not the droid I was looking for.

If I see this thing rolling around the office, I've very tempted to slap a restraining bolt on it and sell it to some Jawas.

I saw something like that used to keep a bedridden high schooler "in class". His robot rolled around school from class to class and everyone could see is face on the screen. Creepy but cool.

Like Tacticus says, it's got a display screen that should show his face from the video camera on his end.

It was very reminiscent of the boardroom scene in Demolition Man.
