Saw this today (aside from any controversy) I thought it was great fun, very fantasy/ anime, great costumes and colors, Monsters were cool, weapons were awesome (not very realistic but we are talking about a fantasy movies) Acting was good. So if you are looking for this type of movie This one is good. |

45thdiv I would say not to bad from a 10year old A few violent scene (people getting chomped on but not disgustingly graphic)

People have completely ignored it's a Chinese movie with the western actors being merely hired hands, the whole story revolves around the female main character. The western characters have a bit of a "Dances with wolves" arc and discover that the Chinese are inherently superior, but they have cut out the "messiah" bit where the white guy becomes better than the indigenous population they so much admire, they get to be part of the team, not dominate it. As for the movie itself, it's pretty much the same as many other Chinese fantasy action movies made in the last 20-odd years. If you like that, you'll love it, it you are unfamiliar with it, you'll probably struggle with their particular conventions. Personally I think it's silly, but they way they tell the story feels like they still have leeway and make the story fit the characters rather than the traditional Hollywood way of making anything fit a highly rigid mould even if you have to hammer it in violently to do so. |

Too stupid for me. Also if the wall and the fighting is to save the world from the big monitor lizards. I assume the lizards come from inside China? If the wall is to protect the world. But the lizards are all ready in the world. Then they ate only protecting China. And the lizards are free to eat the rest of Eurasia and Africa. |
