YouTube link Sigur Ros (Icelandic post rock band of epic quality) does the music. A loop of a one hour track. Nine hours. That's just Part One, of three. I have only seen half a dozen hours total of parts One and Two, so far. The scenery is in my cells. I must have lived there in centuries past……………………. |

I don't have enough data to watch that much! Like to, though . Ever seen Ornen (The Eagle)? Danish crime series, but the main character is Icelandic,so some sequences there. The helicopter tracking shots in the opening and closing titles are quite evocative. More in the closing titles,IIRC, but I couldn't find those. Here's the opening, anyway: vimeo.com/73633909 |

It is very soothing and relaxing. My wife and I sat for over an hour before bedtime watching this on the big screen, Part Three, about halfway in. What I find fascinating in this virtual road trip of Iceland is how quickly the air, sky and clouds change. One minute you'll be on a soaked road with the clouds hanging low just ahead. A half-dozen minutes later you are out from under the clouds in bright sunshine, then back "in" again. |
