Is there a way to completely disable auto-scroll, short of pitching the machine out across the street?? I am guessing that is what my computer has started doing. It zips up and down pages, both on and off line with merry abandon. It also adds 'tabs' willy nilly when I'm on line to sites I have no interest in; up to 40 which I then have to go and individually delete. I thought it was just my seriously demented mouse, but I'm beginning to suspect something else is going on.

If you have not done so already my first recommendation is check for malware. Also are you using a wireless mouse? if so replace with a corded mouse and see if that stops it.

The above suggestions could be it, but I would start with hardware troubleshooting. Swap out your keyboard for another one, see if that stops it. If so see if there's some loose detritus stuck down in the keys.

Canned air is your friend. I had a jammed "D" key and a four-sided blast of canned air fixed it.

It's always something…………………….
