"The idea that dogs are more intelligent than cats has been called into question. Japanese scientists say cats are as good as dogs at certain memory tests, suggesting they may be just as smart. A study – involving 49 domestic cats – shows felines can recall memories of pleasant experiences, such as eating a favourite snack. Dogs show this type of recollection – a unique memory of a specific event known as episodic memory…" Main page link Amicalement Armand

Someone doesn't have both dogs and cats on the same household. As the saying goes: "Cats Rule, Dogs Drool." |

Cats and dogs living together…The dogs figure the cats are part of 'The Pack' and are subject to Pack discipline. The cats assume the dogs are more of their servants. I have never seen a dog more clearly upset than when one of his cats was killed. Lobo didn't understand 'being run over' or 'being dead.' He kept trying to take Space Invader's body away from me, and howled when I put him in a hole and put dirt on him. I am not impressed by 'studies'. I look at how creatures I live with act. |

There are many types of intelligence. Those breeds of dogs claimed to be the smartest often are just the most easily trained not necessarily the smartest. Cats aren't easily trained, that's doesn't make sense them less snart. Dogs are pack animals, social animals like humans so they more easily bind to a human or a family.
Cats don't. |

They both lick their butt holes, then we're happy when they lick us. Cats, dogs… Where does that put us? |

I can testify to my late cat being quite smart. |
