Saw Midge Ure last night at a small venue. Seated about 20ft away from him. I loved what he did with Ultravox back in the 80's, turned them more towards pop and less electronica. I bought one of his solo CD's, "The Gift," as soon as it came out as well. Good show. Had to drive through some driving rain there and back (45miles each way) He said this was the second leg of the US tour, with the first one being on the east coast a few months ago – mentioned it was warm and sunny, very nice there in October. Now he's in Southern California and its rain, rain, rain. First time he's looked on a TV and saw a flood warning, thought that was only in movies, "Don't go outside – it's wet." Bloody Hell, where am I from? We *INVENTED* wet. BTW – it was just a trio. Midge between guitar and keyboards as the song required, another guy on drums, and third going between bass and keyboards. Very nice.

Interesting – he pops up locally fairly often and I often wonder if he's worth seeing. |

I'd go again. And drive 45 miles each way in the rain again for the pleasure. |

Did he do Reap the Wild Wind? I'd drive that distance just to hear him do that! |

Yes he did, first encore. That was the song that reeled me in to Ultravox in the first place and started my love of their (and his) writing and music. |
