Martini. Black or green olive?
What about if it's dirty?

I agree with Tacitus, green all the way. In fact, if I am out of vermouth a glass of gin with an olive serves very well as an exceptionally dry martini.

A martini is a horrible thing to do to a perfectly lovely olive.

Neither, and I'm not a fan of martini's either, even without them.
