Maggie Momen – Girl Scout, volleyball player, ballet dancer, actress, Coptic Christian, aged 10, martyr.

In a coma due due injuries suffered in the December 11 suicide bombing attack during Mass at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Cairo, she died today. She thus became the 27th fatality (mostly women and children) of the attack.

Waiting until the moment in the Mass when the congregation turned to each other for a gesture of forgiveness and reconciliation (known in the Roman Catholic Church as the 'Sign of Peace') the bomber stepped in and set off his bomb.

On Tuesday the Islamic State group claimed responsibility.

From a follow up article on the 14th -

Her mother, Nermine, also survived the attack, but with shrapnel wounds to her eyes and a partial loss of hearing. Her six-year-old sister, Mira, who was outside the church playing at the time of the attack, is the "lucky one," Magdi said.

Maggie's friends and family say she was an avid volleyball player, a ballet dancer and an actress in religious films made by local TV stations. Her volleyball coach, Mohammed Abdu, said she helped her team defeat a rival at a match on Friday.

"She told me 'If we win, I will dance.' She loved dancing," Abdu said. "Now she is in God's hands."

Today He took her Home…

REQUIEM aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei.
Requiescat in pace.
Amen.
Pie Iesu Domini, dona ei requiem.

Rest in God's loving arms child. May his peace and comfort come to your family and may he show mercy to the fool who did this.
