Saw this linked from Drudge: link And to me the "money shot" was in paragraph 23: "Many Silicon Valley engineers and executives, for example, put their kids in non-tech Waldorf schools." Your thoughts? |

Smells like a classic case of "moral panic" to me. Having grown up in the "D&D is evil" days, I'm very sceptical of such claims, not the least being questioning what scientific methodologies were used. If a child is violent when disciplined, it tells me to question the parenting, not blame a screen or a game. |

At my wife's school the kids are being ignored by their parents who are on social media all the time. One mother said she did not have time to help her with her 6 year olds homework, however, the mothjer had beenn on facebook all night as one of the teachers had seen her postings. |

The author is head of a 'top' rehab clinic, I think I read. Hmmmm….no reason to suspect his motives, right ? |

While there might be a slight conflict of interest, the statement the techies send their kids to non-tech schools is what I found interesting. |

I won't get into the article itself, but it would stand to reason that it's a good idea to immerse your kids in a different environment than they have at home, so they'll be more well-rounded human beings. I get kind of worried when I see people cut their children off from anything that isn't exactly like home. |

What happens when you can no longer discipline your children. Her kid should have gotten his ass beaten for attacking his mother. Has the old saying goes. Spared the Rod and Spoil the Child This country has a whole generation of spoiled children who are now young adults. |
