Is there a labor board these people can go to? link If you got hired for $1,250 USD a week and the people that hired YOU would not pay, how long would you be able to make ends meet until they finally got off their duff? I mean, if they spent the time effort an energy DOING the job they were hired to do, then PAY THEM ALREADY. And spell check ME while you are at it!!!!! |

Yes, pay them. As we exile them out of the country. |

It would be jaw dropping if it were true. However,, people like to play fast and lose with the true. |

Is there any proof – like a contract – to back up anything in that "news" story? |

Newsfront??? LOL! You must have been really worked up about this one too…"tehy earmed". |
Mardaddy | 13 Nov 2016 7:27 p.m. PST |
And you are so quick to dismiss you got the site wrong??? LOL! You must be really worked up yourself… "Newsfront" |

link link link Feel free to mis-name those sources as you dismiss them as well… |

In Schlock Mercenary's "Seventy Maxims of Maximaly Effective Mercenaries" Maxim 49 says: "Every client is one missed payment away from becoming a target, and every target is one bribe away from becoming a client." |

This conversation belongs over in the Blue Fez, simple as that… As is my way, I am stating this in public rather than hitting the complaint button. |

As is my way, I am stating this in public rather than hitting the complaint button. Do both or don't complain about no action being taken. |
15th Hussar | 14 Nov 2016 6:47 a.m. PST |
I'm not complaining at all about action not being taken, so please point out exactly where I did complain. I stated quite openly that: This belongs over on the Blue Fez I would rather say this openly (face to face) then hit the Complaint button behind someone's back. |

Cannot dismiss it so recommend it gets nuked? Not seeing how this is Blue Fez. The OP is a rant in favor of people getting paid due compensation for actions they (all reasoning points to) have done what they were hired to do. I do not give a whit about what side of any spectrum they are on – you hire someone to do a job, they do it, they get paid. It's a cornerstone of basic business, and I hope they are taken to task for failing to follow through. |

I think that the Blue Fez, and before that Current Affairs are crutches. We have Stifle and Ignore for those who quite legitimately only want to see wargaming topics on TMP. Use it/them. If you don't like the topic, don't click on it. Or stop coming back to complain about it. As for me, I wasn't aware that the "job" paid so well. Or at least promised to. Why am I not surprised? Was it a W2 job or a 1099 job? Did it come with benefits? Insurance? Was it under OSHA safety guidelines? 401K? |
Mardaddy | 14 Nov 2016 3:28 p.m. PST |
All good questions… I would imagine OSHA might take exception of the lack of safety gear with how things turned out. I imagine the training syllabus… "Here, hold this. Now walk in a circle. You are hired/trained." I am hoping this was not an under the table, but heck, it pays better than any McD's or Starbucks! And were these jobs counted on the monthly, "New Jobs Created," numbers that are pushed? PAY THEM IF THEY EARNED IT! |

If they were promised the pay and did what they were paid for, then thy should be paid. That way if they are on video doing thing that call for it they can pay the fines. |
