Was one of my "go to" shows growing up. Seems to have down some good works as well as acting. I still have the theme song stuck in my head!

Wyatt Earp, Wyatt Earp,
So brave courageous and bold.
Long live his fame and long live his glory
and long may his story be told.

A regular in our house. In black and white, of course.

Hugh O'Brian said once that he was the last man to be killed by John Wayne on screen in the movie The Shootist and was pleased to be the last one.

I've seen almost all of the Wyatt Earp TV show but one thing has bothered me about his portrayal of Wyatt Earp which is that he never wore a mustatsche(sorry about bad spelling)as it was with his brothers as well.

But he wasn't the only one who didn't wear one Burt Lancaster in the movie Gunfight at OK Corral didn't wear one either but then you have Kurt Russell who did.

Hugh O'Brian was a very good actor and he'll be missed.

One of my childhood favorites. Though ahistorical perhaps as compared to the versions played by Costner or Russell at the time, he WAS Wyatt Earp.

I remember the saloon owner getting popped by John Wayne in The Shootist. I have no other recollection of Hugh O'Brian. I guess I need to catch up….
