When I was young and traipsing around Southeast Asia I had books that told me, along with the usual travel info, about local customs and manners. I followed them carefully, people liked me, I got compliments on sitting right and so forth. It made each trip much more pleasant.

This guy didn't just come across that rock, he followed some kind of instructions to get there. Did someone not tell him? Did the book not say? Or did he not care? They should fix that sign, but even without a sign he probably should have known. It's not necessarily his fault, but someone was careless.

"This guy didn't just come across that rock,…"

Interesting choice of words, LOL!

I did notice that the climber in the photo was not wearing any protection during his ascent.

And another tourist!

Irate locals called up to a foreign tourist who had clambered on the Grandfather Stone in Koh Samui ordering him down from the summit of their sacred phallus.

The tourist had climbed up on the Hin Ta phallic symbol that is an icon of the holiday island for a photo opportunity. It lies next to a crevice in the rock in the shape of a vagina called the Grandmother Stone or Hin Yai…
