I've never really understood the stories an anecdotes I have read about dogs drinking from toilet bowls.

Some context. I live in Australia and our toilet pans use the S bend mechanism so there is only a little bit of water at the bottom of the pan, and you need a big dog to get a drink, and it won't get much to drink.

I'm travelling in China and they have a valve mechanism* and the pan is permantly at least 1/3 full. That is a lot of water that is easily accessible. Plus the pans seem to be a bit lower. And I understand that the US has the same system.

It also explains various discussions I've heard on TMP about using toilet valve parts for Wargaming. You can't buy that stuff in Australia because we don't have a valve on our toilets.

Cheers,
JohnG

*sitting toilets only. I've used a few squat toilets here as well
