Any good, fun ww2 board games that are very easy to learn, modest play time (1-2 hours) and pretty cheap? Something suitable for an 8 year old in particular :) |

Definitely Memoir 44. It is a board game, but it comes with plastic figures & terrain pieces, so it has the feeling of a non-board wargame. & all the scenarios are well laid out so you can just sit down & play. & there are a number of expansions for the different theaters. Because the game uses cards for activation, there may be some reading necessary. |

AH's Battle of the Bulge may seem simple, but for an 8-year old, I'd suggest something else. That game has a LOT of subtleties. Memoir 44 is a good suggestion… |

Memoir 44! gave that to my 9 yr old grandson this past Christmas. He and my son have had a blast playing it. Grandson cleaned Dad's clock in the first two scenarios! That'll teach him for getting away from the hobby! |

For a 8 year old I would have to go with Memoir 44. |
