Y'know, David Bowie expressed some of his last wishes that there be NO memorial, tribute or benefit put on associated with his name and death.

Way to stay classy and respectful, Lady Gag…

Really? How could anyone think the Grammy's weren't going to honor the passing of David Bowie? Bowie broke ground his whole life and there are all sorts of rock acts that owe their careers to Bowie. Lady Gaga said without the trail blazed by Bowie, she would never had the courage to be a performer because she thought she was too weird.
If you don't like Lady Gaga as a performer, that's your opinion. Given that the Grammy's were going to have a tribute to Bowie, I think Lady Gaga was a good fit.

I suppose folks will find outrage of just about anything.

Grammies. Not Grammy's.

Anyway, she is my current favorite pop singer.

Grammies. Not Grammy's.

Actually not!

But guilty of an errant apostrophe.

I'm sure the conversation went…
Producer> Gaga, we want you to do a Bowie tribute at this years Grammie show!

Gaga> Ok.

Cyrus the Great17 Feb 2016 1:30 p.m. PST

Or close to that!

I think she frikkin' KILLED it! The only other performer I could imagine doing as well is Annie Lennox back in the day. Bowie deserves many more tributes as classy and excellent as this.

And… Lady Gag? Really? What are you, 15? 8)=

Oh! Was that supposed to be David Bowie? I thought she was auditioning for a commercial spot as Mrs. Ronald McDonald.

Mardaddy:

If your only awareness of Lady Gaga has been contemporary pop, then I can understand (but not agree with) your apparent dislike.

However, I would submit that your opinion might change if watch this Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga duet: YouTube link from the Great American Songbook.

That's not the only song, she went on tour with Bennett singing songs from the Great American Songbook and cut an album.

Whether of not you like "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face", I think you'll agree that this amazing singer can belt out "The Lady is a Tramp" and "Cheek to Cheek" with the very best of them.

@XRaysVision, thanks for the link. Tony B is one of my favorites. Lady G certainly belonged on stage with him.

So … the Grammys happened? Who won?

I'll ditto Xray's comments. You reallyt do need to look deeper into her recent work. Her tribute to the Sound of Music and Julie Andrews:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXMoD4kj2b4

Also check out her rendition of the National Anthem at the SuperBowl. YouTube link

I love her work with Tony Bennet and think she is a worthy talent who knows howto respect good music. Mardaddy I must respectfully disagree with your assessment.

. AND she's gotta great set of legs to boot!!!

I'm not a fan of her music in general, but it's hard to argue she's not extremely talented as well as a heavy influence on modern pop music.
