link Bulgarian peasant Baba Vanga claims a vision came to her showing Europe desolate and deserted in 2016 following a series of devastating catastrophes which rocked the continent. The sightless seer, who is credited with an 85 per cent success rate by her followers, apparently predicted the downfall of the eurozone's political elite, adding that Europe will "cease to exist" by the end of next year. The bold prophecy has caused a stir, coming at a time when the 28-nation bloc faces being ripped apart by internal divisions. Experts have warned that "arrogant" EU leaders are sleepwalking into catastrophe, with dire economic results and the ongoing migrant crisis sparking a surge in anti-Brussels sentiment. Ms Vanga, who died in 1996 aged 85, said in a dire prediction that Europe will "cease to exist" in 2016, with the continent becoming a "wasteland almost entirely devoid of any form of life" after a series of catastrophes. She predicted that the population of the continent will reach almost zero by 2025 with Muslim invaders – believed by some to refer to Islamic State (ISIS) – moving in to conquer the former European countries by 2043.

That's what her vision indicated. Not sure what devastating catastrophes she was seeing – earthquakes? volcanoes? meteor strike? nuke weapons from terrorists? biological weapons out of control? Obviously there will be some level of people and government remaining if it takes ISIS or whoever eighteen years to conquer Europe. You know how these seers are. Not sure how much was lost in translation, or amped up for ratings purposes by the news source. Just passin' it along… |

Mystics historically cannot see their own future. I've read that in several places, and have heard it directly from two different ones. Funny story. My wife occasionally buys bulk herbs for her herbal cooking programs at a store associated with the Edgar Caycee Center edgarcayce.org One day while there, the store announced that for the convenience of the customers, there was a medium available for anyone who wanted a reading. I told my wife that if the medium was really any good, she should have called the people by name who most needed her services. |

You could paraphrase the headline to: "Journalist who wants to go home early on New Year's Eve pulls the dregs from the '2016 file' and just phones it in." The problem with psychics' success rates is that not all predictions are equivalent. If I make 99 predictions like "celebrity scandal rocks Hollywood" and "US congress less popular than ever" I for every "Europe blasted flat" I can have a 99% success rate and the scam is never discovered because no one but my fans ever reads the 99% sure-thing predictions. Waste. Of. Time. |
