On November 21st Civil War reenactors will gather in Gettysburg, PA for the annual Remembrance Day Parade. This is held every year on the Saturday closest to the anniversary of Lincoln giving his Gettysburg Address. four or five thousand Union and Confederate reenactors will parade down the streets of the town. It is quite a sight!

This year will be very special for me. I will be stepping down as the colonel of the Mifflin Guard, which I have had the honor of commanding for the last 26 years.

I would love to have taken my kids to see that but my son has a soccer tournament that weekend. That coupled with the Missus B-day. Have a good time and say "Hi" to Lincoln for me!

And belated condolences on the passing of Abe Lincoln tribute performer James Getty.

The parade was beautiful. Perfect weather, lots of marchers and a big crowd to watch. My retirement ceremony and change of command was emotional, but went well. So now I am the colonel emeritus :)
