Atleast in the dog world.

It all started when FCI (the world governing body of all things dogs, except for in the USA and UK)

Gave the world dog show in 2019 to china, right after china had its dog eating festival. Just one of many breaches of animal welfare in china.

Norway objected , and the Bleeped text hit the fan, with threats of banning norway from FCI if they didn't reverse our criticism.

The asian block of FCI said some rather nasty things about us.

Sweden did NOT backstab us, and came out in support and strong criticism of not only china but hiw FCI gad handelded it.
Finland joined in. Now normally us nordics would be out gunned against china, but in the organised dog world, Norway, Sweden and Finland acounts for about 25% of all revenue in FCI norway alone is probebly bigger then the whole of the asian block within FCI.

After meetings and debates, Finland, Germany, France, Italy Sweden and Norway, have put forward changes with in FCI.
Those 6 countries acount for over 50% of FCI revenue.
And FCI got over 80 member countries.

Ah I feel the power!

Money talks, BS walks & doggies walkies?

Now you've got me interested. What changes have they put forward? Just to prevent China from getting the 2019 show? Or have they somehow tied this to wider changes within the FCI?

No offense, but how is this a breach of animal welfare? Eating dog is not my idea of a good meal, but other cultures see it differently. Heck, some dog breeds were created as a food source, (Chihuahua anyone?).

As long as they're not mistreated, I don't see it as any different than eating cows. Heck, the French eat horses and that would lead to my wife hurting someone if she walked in on that!

They are misstreated, skinned and burned alive.
Not to mention how they are treated before the tortures "slaughter "

The changes are not to stop china, china is getting the world dog show.

The changes are four fold.

1. that countries given regional or world show must for fill a minimum of animal/dog welfare

2. Any new country that wants to become member of fci must have atleast 3000 new registerd dogs pr year in the 3 years leading up to becoming a member.
(Norway have about 30 000 pr year, Sweden 55 000)

3. That countries with more dogs registered and the more money given to fci gets more vote (maximum of 5)

4. That Europe should be devided into, 2,3 or 4 sections (this has to do with it beeing much much easier to get your dog to become a asian or south American winner then a European winner, there are 150 000 fci members in the asian section, while it's 1.7 million i Europe, with naturally more dogs too) that some money given from each of these sections are earmarked to go back to that section
