All of a sudden, Civ IV will not run. When I click on the shortcut or attempt start through the DVD drive I get an "Access Denied" message box that reads "Please login with administrator privileges and try again". The problem is that I am login with administrator privileges.

I created a second user with admin status, reset mine to User rebooted, then set mine back to admin rebooted and still got the same message. As usual Microsoft help doesn't.

Until now Civ IV has been running fine for several years. The computer is running Windows Vista which has all patches.

Any Ideas suggestions?

Any recent Steam patches?

I don't know what a "steam patch" is. I have installed a number of Security patches for Visa from MS since I last player and ran System Mechanic during which Flash player was dropped

What operating system are you running?

That happened to me with Comic Life.
A reinstall fixed it.
