NASA confirms that Mars has liquid water today. link Kudos to the scientists and engineers involved. The question of life on Mars just got a lot more interesting… |

Yessiry! Not just water but water in liquid form. As in not ice or steam. Actual water! |
Texas Jack | 28 Sep 2015 10:23 a.m. PST |
That is incredible news! If I say "Go NASA!!!" am I guilty of cheerleading? |

I recall NASA posting a picture like this once, on their own website:
That was back when people had a sense of humor and had no problems making fun of themselves or others. Dan |

Not just liquid water but liquid SALT water. Lets go get us some space lobsters. |

That was back when people had a sense of humor and had no problems making fun of themselves or others. Those were the days. I am of that background but enjoyed a good Polack joke as much as the next guy. Similarly, I wasn't nearly as cautious as now when telling a joke where pretty much everything was fair game. If you didn't like the joke, you could ignore it. If you couldn't ignore it, you could top it. If you couldn't top it, you'd try to match it. If you couldn't do any of those, the joke was probably right. |

LOL. Are we related? At the dinner table, if anyone had an opinion they had better be ready to defend it. Sometimes we ran to dinner, not necessarily because of Mom's cooking, which was usually great … usually. I think it might have been a trick of my Parents', come to think of it. Sometimes we didn't even notice we had finished our vegetables. Dan |

This is some seriously cool science news. |

Very interesting! If there is still water oozing out on the surface after all this time, there must be quite a lot down there. |

Now they need to find the missing canals! |
Terrement | 28 Sep 2015 1:40 p.m. PST |
Now they need to find the missing canals! I read an in depth analytical study from the highest possible sources, to whom most of you do not have access, that they were stolen from Mars by ancient astronauts and they are now most are hiding in plain sight in Venice, and others were chopped up and used to create the fjords in Scandinavia. |
GarrisonMiniatures | 28 Sep 2015 2:20 p.m. PST |
Did you know that there are more canals in Birmingham than there are in Venice? Or so I've been told. |
boy wundyr x | 28 Sep 2015 2:51 p.m. PST |
So basically, the Martians are in Birmingham? |
Col Durnford | 28 Sep 2015 3:18 p.m. PST |
Do you know there are more dirt bags living in Venice beach then any place in this solar system? |

Lets go get us some space lobsters. Quit with the boiling of lobsters. The Lobstermen of Mars are at least 3 tech levels higher than us Earthlings. |

Just because they're smart doesn't mean they can't be tasty… |

Quit with the boiling of lobsters. The Lobstermen of Mars are at least 3 tech levels higher than us Earthlings. YEAH, but do "they" have melted butter and LEMONS??? Just because they're smart doesn't mean they can't be tasty… Yes.

Parzival, thanks for attempting to inject some actual science into the Science board. I appreciate it. |
Gunfreak | 29 Sep 2015 2:41 p.m. PST |
What do you mean Bowman, he should be doghoused. Bringing up religion is a breaking the rules. Clameing the roman god of war has wet him self. |
Bowman | 30 Sep 2015 6:50 a.m. PST |
Ya, but all the planets (and moons) are named after classical gods and mythological characters. That includes the dwarf planets such as Pluto and Eris (and probably 100's of others). Sorry, that was a slight dig at Parzival. Now Eris is the goddess of chaos, strife and discord (had to look that up). Perfect name for a dwarf planet given the fracas that the demotion of Pluto caused. Who said scientists don't have a sense of irony. |
