link I'm somewhere between intrigued and creeped. Particularly by: "Does BUDDY communicate with other robots? BUDDY can communicate with other BUDDY robots and all the BUDDYs will have their own social network. We plan to launch mybuddyworld.com in 2016. It will be a social network for your BUDDYs allowing them to interact with each other and share photos & videos." On the other hand, he already has a targeting reticle if I can just find a crowdfunded laser arm for him… |

On the other hand, he already has a targeting reticle if I can just find a crowdfunded laser arm for him… Well, if he is Skynet and suggested by Dom (above) then you probably want the plasma rifle in the 40 watt range for arms attachments. |

I have this image of Buddys sharing photos and videos of their "owners" and texting things like "Look what my stupid human did today" to each other… |

Only with the arms upgrade! OTOH, a painting robot would be handy. |

I know I may look like a tinfoil wearer, but Humankind needs a serious discussion about universal kill-switches, and the desirability of self-aware machines. If a machine is self aware, is it effectively a slave? We only need one to go rogue. Think about it – stock markets regularly suffer 'micro crashes' now, because its all automated, and it gets out of control. Hackers are limited to their own typing speeds. Imagine a AI hacker – think how quickly it can type. |

Isn't that what "stun guns" are for? Seems only fair to short-circuit robots, if you can do that to humans. |
