I have gotten the urge to play a number of older computer games, but ran into a hitch. Where can one currently get the patches the companies put out for their games to fix the various problems that showed up? There are games I am particularly interested in are : Waterloo and The Operational Art of War I by Talonsoft, Close Combat II and III by Microsoft, Harpoon and SSG's Carriers at War. What makes the situation even more annoying is I think they are all on a Zip Disk but my current computer lacks a 3.5 inch drive and a serial port so I can not attach my Zip Drive to it.

Look at a site called abandonia.com they have all sorts of classic games on there cracked and patched. Also includes dosbox so you can get them to run on newer computers.

That is a good link. I too have some older games I want to play again.

Abandonware sites are probably the best bet nowadays, though of questionable legality.

Some games, if there was a community around them, may also have fan patches out there.
