In early September I will visiting the Netherlands. I will be staying in Delft. I am with people who are visiting art museums, specifically the Rjksmuseum. I will escape for a day and be travelling by public transport. I am thinking of the 'Fort aan den Hoek van Holland". Can anyone suggest other places to visit?
Best wishes
John

Schaveningen. Just grab a train down toward the Hague and hop off at the beach. It'll be lovely this time of year.

Also, if you are an art person, stop by the Gemeentemuseum (if it's still there) in Den Haag. It has a wonderful Mondriaan exhibit.

I recommend the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam:
