My (then) 18 yr old daughter never fails to surprise me. Up until one term before finishing high school, she was going to go to university and study interior design; then that changed to becoming a paramedic (no idea why).

After a year at uni she decided to join the Australian Army for a gap year (never hinted at it before). So now she has graduated from Kapooka (recruit training) and is off to Puckapunyal to the Corps of Transport. In between she did a week in the Federation Guard around ANZAC day.

I shake my head at her impulsiveness, but heck I am so proud of her.

If only all their wackadoodle decisions were so good…

She continues to surprise me. Having only got her P licence before she went to Kapooka, she now has her MR (passed her test on the 'Mog) and is now learning to drive the Mack which will give her an HR. Best part is, she gets posted near me when she finishes so I'm stoked.
