Let me start by saying that Daredevil is one of the best and most underrated characters of the comic book world(s); he has long been one of my favourites. In fact it is the only comic I still buy on a regular basis. I think I'm going to stop that though. I watched the first episode of the Netflix series and it is good. Very good. They captured the characters of Matt and Foggy very well. I'm not sure the actress that plays Karen Page looks like how I imagined her and they missed an opportunity to introduce Ben Urich, but it was still excellent. It mixed the lawyer stuff with the vigilante stuff very well. It gave a glance at the origin of his powers without it being the focus of the story. It referenced a bunch of different things from his past that I'm sure will be explained in due time, but which the fan of the comic book could appreciate. It was very well done. I wish the comic was as good these days. I guess I'll be getting my DD stuff from the TV for the time to come. |

Good, it should get brutal. Gritty Daredevil is the best Daredevil. |

I've seen the first three episodes and my wife and I are both enjoying it. I think it's doing a great job of capturing the Frank Miller era of the series, which is (of course) what set the tone for everything to come. My wife really likes the chemistry and humor between Foggy and Matt. Without that element, she would not stay to see more. I definitely like that, but am also enjoying the rest of the elements. Yes, it is brutal, but it's supposed to be. I am looking forward to more flashbacks to his origin, and finally seeing how he perceives the world. Right now I do like that they are not going all CGI like they did in the Ben Affleck movie. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more episodes, and am actually glad the whole series is already available for viewing. |

I just finished it today. The first three episodes kinda dragged for me, but it took off like a runaway train after. I think it lives up to all the hype. Vincent D'Onofrio is awesome as Wilson Fisk. My only complaints are that for lawyers they act more like Private Eyes, and the Karen character is annoying as all hell. Each episode I kept hoping would be her last (does anything happen, you'll have to watch to find out). It's a must watch series. I hope the second season can match the first. |
