World Health Organization recommends daily sugar intake be less than 10% of energy intake:
Includes honey and syrup, but not sugars from fresh fruit.
Limiting it to 5% (6 tsp) would be even better.

I'll have to increase my energy intake substantially to get that number down to 10%.
