Very sad news to all of us who knew and cared for him. Rhea Baskette has passed away on October 5 I understand. He and I were wargame friends as he was friends with many dozens of us here in Tennessee and elsewhere. . He was a genuine person and great soul. I can honor him no better here than to post some photos of Rhea from past years. The sparkle and smile were always there. We will miss you.

He's now at the great game convention in the sky. I didn't know him, but it sounds like he gave much happiness to others through the years through the hobby.

I never knew him well, but I chatted with him more than once at Nashcon. Skilled painter, and with a flair for enjoying gaming, as the pictures attest. RIP.

The gamers from around Nashville have lost a true friend of the hobby.
He will be missed.

He shows his passion for the hobby. He must been a fun person to game with. RIP

In a landscape of grey skies and mostly drab cookie cut shops, Rhea was the neon diner at the corner. He was a man that lived comfortably in many worlds but conformed to none.
Would that we could all be this way.

Farewell French John. Godspeed.

Nashville is a poorer place without you.

Well said Joe. I for one will miss Rhea for the joy he brought to a table whenever he sat down to game. Our community is indeed poorer with his loss, but so much richer for the life he shared with all of us.

Always sorry to see an old timer pass on. He obviously relished life and Pirate gaming. Arrrh and RIP sir.

Terrible news. As mentioned, he looks like someone who totally immersed himself in the game. Sounds like those who knew him and gamed with him will always have some very fond gaming memories.

Rest in peace Rhea.

It just kills me to know he is gone. I just saw him recently and he was in the peak of health to all appearances. His humor, his deep voice, his sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Rhea was a great guy and a great gamer. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

Here's to drinking grog and telling good jokes, Rhea!

I always found him a cheerful, big-hearted character, and a huge pleasure to know.

This is sad news indeed. One thing you could always count on from Rhea, and that was a friendly greeting and a welcoming smile. In the few years that I knew him I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone.

I am recalling the last time I saw him, and it was the usual gracious farewell as he left. He will indeed be missed in the Nashville community and in other places where he was known.

Rest in peace Rhea

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. I didn't personally know him nor knew who he was, but he looked to have been a gentleman who greatly enjoyed life and our hobby. Those combinations are seemingly imbued to those souls who can relay them the best throughout life, and Mr. Baskette appeared to have successfully accomplished that. Well done, sir!

Godspeed, and thank you, brother gamer.

I met him at my very first SCA event…in 1986. I shortly later found miniature gaming and again he was there.I saw him 2 or 3…sometimes 8-10 times a month. He will be missed
