Having confusing issues with my 'Agenda' app on my phone.

I have the default Agenda App on my phone. If you have it you probably know that you can tell it which calendars/diaries etc to sync with – Google Calender, Facebook etc.

When I select 'Holidays in the United Kingdom' from either of my two gmail accounts, it places multiple dates on- 3 to be precise. If I selected it from both, I'd expect two- my Real Name account passes it one, and Last Hussar would pass it one. Each pass it three. If I select one of the accounts I get three, if I select both I get 6. Agenda colour codes to show where entries come from, so I can see that it changes as I change the settings – Name is blue, Hussar is Green.

Now here is the odd(er) thing. Current working hypothesis is that each account isn't passing them 3 times, but rather there are three entries for the same day in each. The reason is that sometimes the same event has different names, or even (for remembrance day) different dates.

For example
on 26 Oct it says
British Summer Time Ends
Daylight Saving Time ends
Daylight Saving Time ends

Note the different name- In Britain we call it BST, not DSL. That makes me think that the 1st one at least is held as a unique event where ever it is picked up from

On the actual Calendar desktop page, it is only one entry- DSL.

Likewise Remembrance day has multiple different entries – two on Remembrance Sunday, called Remembrance Sunday, and one on the 11th November -the 'actual' day, called Remembrance day. Again just one entry on the webpage – the Sunday.

All three disappear if you untick the "holidays" option only – its not as if its picking up from 'Official list for app" and "Web Calendar" simultaneously. Each one is under the heading for the gmail address (As opposed to my wedding anniversary appearing multiple times – once from my Facebook, once from hers, once from my gmail contacts list etc – I know what is going on there)

Now the 'Agenda' display list is just the 'phone desktop display' of the entire calendar app. You can go into the app proper, and display the agenda there – WHICH CAN HAVE DIFFERENT SETTINGS (i.e. show different events- the phone desktop agenda and the calendar agenda are obviously different things) However the Calendar agenda also picks up each holiday 3 times.

So ladies and gentlemen what is going on? How can I find out where the rogue entries are- They are not on the Website display, but the settings are telling me that this is where it is picking its events up from? Its somewhat annoying when 'Halloween' is filling 2/3rds of the display! Also it appears there is a limit of how many events (not days) are on the display at any one time, so with these multiple holidays I can only scroll to end of November.

One possibility for the doubles is the system sending is set for one time zone and the system receiving is set for another. In that case (say GMT and EST), it would think one holiday was from 0000-2359 and the other was from 0600-0559 the next day. Like the names being different, the computer would also think these were different because they were at different times.

What "default Agenda App" ?

Is this an iPhone by any chance?
