My Finest Hour:
I killed all 7 of the enemy team. That was a rough game, and I took a lot of damage (though my armor did deflect a number of hits.) My team did a good job of wearing down and occupying the enemy, and I was able to run around within the maelstrom and blow stuff up. Conditions were just right, and if that last Tiger had been just a bit quicker on the trigger, I might not have made it. It really says something about Jagdpanther players that, even after all this, I got the 1st-Class instead of Master-Class badge. |

nice, but remember that damage done means more than kills. and if your playing low tier in the battle with a VII instead of high tier, much better chance at getting a lot of damage. Either way great game, and I bet you were just a few points off of master class. |

Very true. I've run into a lot of players who don't understand how the points are really awarded. If I hang back and snipe (which I wasn't in this game; I was in the thick of it!) I may rack up a lot of damage and kills, but get a lower score than someone who did a lot of spotting and/or was tangled up at the front. I recently got into an in-game argument with a T-34-85 dude who refused to "act as bait while everyone else got the kills," and he just didn't understand how scouting works (or team tactics 101, such as how the lowest earner on the winning team often gets more XP than the highest-killer on the losing team.) Thanks in large part to him (and an enemy who DID understand team tactics) we got pulverized from across the map without ever seeing more than 3 of the enemy. He got the only kill we had, and tried to get all uppity about it, but he still scored lower than their worst player. Heck, I routinely see AFK guys take home 300 XP when their team wins, and they spent the whole battle motionless in the start zone! I love how the game rewards cooperative tactics and really discourages selfish playing. I'm also continually surprised (though I really shouldn't be) how relatively few players understand it. |

just after the recent games show the pc version of this game has had a large influx of "tomato" players buying up tier VIII prem's. Nothing more disappointing then seeing your top tier Lowe have a wn8 below 300. Thats why i love clan wars and strongholds. |

Some have got to be kids playing on their parents' accounts, since I see it so often in non-premium tanks. I mean, how can someone that terrible fight their way up to tier 5, let alone 8? |

I use a Churchill. Hanging round at the back isn't a choice, it's a power to weight ratio. |

I saw a bot player. 27k battles wn8 of 150 and a 40% win rate. But he was driving tier X's |

So, why do so many players hit the SOS button in the first few seconds of the game with no enemy in sight? I've never understood that. And congrats on the great game! I had a 7 kill game once, it's quite a thrill. |

I've begun to get annoyed with WOT lately. Once you get to tier 6 and 7 you end up fighting 8s and 9s all the time. When you get a point blank, flank shot, with 0 deflection, and hear, "we didn't even scratch them." I begin to wonder why I am bothering to play. I've had games where I spotted 9 enemy, and gotten no XP for it because I also died right away. As far as I can tell you have to spot someone AND stay alive until they die. That's not terribly likely in a light tank vs 6-7 heavies. |

Kids playing on their parents account: mini-me (7 yrs old) today got Master class badge, six kills and High Caliber medal today. Playing the T-1 Cunningham. He also has several Reaper, a Kamikaze, and many many sharpshooter badges. My best: 4 kills and one 1st class badge. I think I have some of the more common, cool-headed etc. |

Chris, I think they're trying to rally teammates to go with them. Sometimes they're just an idiot, though, as I remember one guy who hit that button the ENTIRE BATTLE, then blamed everyone else when he got blown up. I'll go out of my way to support a teammate, but I won't get myself trashed just to bail out a Leeroy. And yeah, that game was a thrill. The most fun part was my dead teammates cheering me on! I've experienced much the same as you, Dan. I'm finding it a challenge to figure out just how the heck to stay useful when I'm so thoroughly outclassed by everything, and so far I haven't come up with much except to use high-caliber HE (likely to do SOME damage, and knock out components) and focus more on maneuvering and harrying. Of course, the prospect of being one-shotted tends to limit your options, and in my experience plenty of players will turn their attention from their incredibly dangerous and heavy opponent to swat a little bug (me,) so I can't count on my insignificance to protect me, either. UltraOrk, that's just downright heartwarming. =] |

Only thing that irks me in the game are the cheap gold rounds, players willing to use them instead of learning how to manouver/flank/aim and auto-loaders. Nothing like being hit frontally in one's JagPz Tiger 3 times in seconds with gold rounds. I can hardly play a game without being hit with a gold round (13 in one game). Otherwise, great game. Lots of fun to play 'live' opponents and curse the poor quality of many teams and players as you realize that most of your 'team' died in the first 60 seconds (smile). Dan |

Dan, That described about 80% of the matches I've played on the XBOX 360. It does make me appreciate the other 20% where you get teamwork and a sense of tactics. |

So, why do so many players hit the SOS button in the first few seconds of the game with no enemy in sight? I've never understood that. Check if they are pinpointign a map location at the same time. Could be they are seeking help to come with them to cover that area. I tend to do that if all the lemmings go one way. I've no problem using gold if I only have a pea-shooter. I don't pay cash, just use up credits and only fire off a few if any in each battle. It's all make-believe anyway, half the tanks in the game never got off the drawing board and the other half are completely mismatched at times. It's a game, I want to have fun, not get destroyed without even scratching enemy paint. |

I've never played full WOT, only Blitz, and it seems there are a number of differences. Upgrades, for instance, are much fewer in number, so you don't see autoloaders outside of the lower tiers. Gold rounds… I keep a few handy but don't use them very often (usually it's HEAT anyway, which tend to bounce even with a clear flat non-red shot) and I never get the feeling I'm being spammed with them. They certainly don't seem to improve my odds against higher-tier frontal armor, anyway. I'm grinding away in tier VI and VII, fighting the temptation to buy gold to convert all my XP to skip ahead a bit! |

I play WoT on PC, great fun!!! Rounds bounce because of the angle of the armour, the penetration indicator only shows against the rated armour & does not include armour thickness for angled armour or the chance of bouncing. If got PC install game then google for Tank Inspector you will find it very useful. Regards MMG. |
