Just heard about this on the radio, did a quick search, and found the following:

From the radio report, the only reliable ways so far to predict Alzheimer's is through either extracting a sample of spinal fluid or an MRI.

The test is still in the clinical trial stage, and might be some years away from becoming a reliable predictor of the disease, but it could be another proverbial "chink in the armor" against it.

Alzheimer's is a curse. Grandmother suffered for years. Would be better off dying quick than the slow loss of memory and mental abilities.

One of the problems with the test is that people who have a positive indication for Alzheimer's but none of the symptoms report lower memory related functions than those that have the indicator but don't know it.

So people start having symptoms, or believe they do, because they find out they are at risk for it.

There is a lot of controversy around early testing for things and how they lead to unnecessary procedures that are more dangerous than the risks of the disease in the first place.
