Training targets or perhaps decoys in an all out air strike? Just think how these can be used.

I don't under stand why this is in the news, they have been flying RC full sized aircraft since 1943 as targets, as weapons, as decoys, etc.

Yea, but at Mach 1.47? My first thought is to send these in armed HARM munitions followed by the main strike with crewed planes may help reduce casualties among the flak catchers. Just a thought.

What the hell? This is NOT news, drone aircraft have served as targets for decades.

The Beeb evidently can't read any of the numerous unclassified sources (like Aviation Week, or Janes) that have mentioned drone targets.
