I am thinking of saving up for a trip to the US in two years time (maybe three) for Mr P and I.

Do you think it is possible to fit in Comicon, Gencon and Texas Renaissance Faire? Do they hold them at the same time every year? (cause it seems like I could have done it this year)

ah no, the Texas Renaissance Faire isn't til October. Any others about this time of year?

The Texas Renaissance Festival is legendary "'round these parts" (as they used to say), but there are other events around the state that take place in August. Here's a list of eight of them:

A word of caution, though: August can get VERY hot here in Texas, so bring enough water and sunscreen! grin

Most states have a Ren Faire of some sort. NY holds it in the summer about 10 miles from Lake Ontario neat Syracuse. It has been going for 30 years or so and uses permanent buildings

Comicon is in San Diego, California. The 2014 dates are June 18-21. Be warned that in order to pre register for a 2014 badge you must have had a 2013 badge. It's nearly impossible to get into these days, it has sold out the last few years in a matter of HOURS after tickets go on sale.

GenCon will be Aug 14-17, 2014.

TRF runs during late October through November.

I would say that unless you plan to be in the US for 6 months and do a LOT of driving you won't be able to hit all 3 events.

Maybe not. I applied for a job I thought I would have a good chance at, and I didn't even get an interview. I am a bit crushed.

Broadsides is on the Battleship Texas, and happens roughly the same time as TRF.
Space City(comic)Con was two weeks ago.
