Over and undder on losses for aTm is set at five games!

(I'm taking the push, as the bookie here has a right to)

They are lucky to go 7-5

He and Hubert Sumlin get a dose of the sophomore slumps in spades!

Are you talking about the Justin Bieber of football?

Smokey Roan29 Jul 2013 2:05 p.m. PST

Yes, John. Put your money where your mouth is. Over or under five losses?

Well? We're waiting!

Over, but I never bet on knowledge. I always bet on "feelings". grin
I HOPE he falls flat on his face and trips over his Heisman.

Smokey Roan29 Jul 2013 2:31 p.m. PST

I hear ya brother! Preach on!

I am usually rather blase about the goings on of "student athletes" south of the Mason Dixon line.
After all, what can one expect from people who cannot play in the snow?
However, starting with his nickname, this clown has done nothing but pile up reasons to dislike him. For heaven's sake, even *I* noticed him!
Turn on ESPN2 in the AM, all you hear is Steven A and Skip going "Tut! Tut!" about Johnnie Football when they should be arguing about Tebow.
Enough is enough!
Harrumph!

aTm has class fans (went to Tejas for the Canes game a few years ago) but they have Tebowed with this Johnny Football thing.

I hates them all now.

No way the aggies lose anymore than 2-3 games. With their schedule it's impossible for them to lose any more than that. My bet is 10-2 regardless of whether Justin Beiber, I mean Johnny Manziel, plays well or has a sophomore slump.

I'll not bet on their bowl game at this time. :)

Smokey Roan29 Jul 2013 3:34 p.m. PST

I don't know. Hubert Sumlin has a yellow streak, IMO. Look at his choke and puke against UF last year for example.

With all the hype, I can see a fold.

Well, I'll take that action. Not that I really know what's likely to happen, but what's the fun of having a bet if everyone picks the same team?

Smokey Roan29 Jul 2013 4:31 p.m. PST

Uh Strietax, what do you not understand about an o/u? :) :)

Five losses is the line. Over? Or under?

:)

I'll take some of this action with the proviso that if he gets yanked or does not start it is a loss.

Smokey Roan29 Jul 2013 5:42 p.m. PST

Ok, Sabre, but you gotta pick: OVER 5 losses, or UNDER?

Sheesh, don't you guys bet? :)

Streitax29 Jul 2013 6:06 p.m. PST

Well everyone else seemed to be picking under, so, by declaring I was going against the grain it seemed obvious to me that I was picking over 5 wins. Granted, if we were talking real money, assumptions wouldn't do. But we're not.

Smokey Roan30 Jul 2013 8:48 a.m. PST

LOSSES, Strietax, LOSSES, not wins. :) Over or under five losses!(which would mean over/under SEVEN wins) :)

OK, a bottle of whiskey and a deck of cards, please. I'm gonna teach you guys a new game. Bring your wallets. :)

Streitax30 Jul 2013 12:14 p.m. PST

I'm sorry, Smokey, you seem to have mistaken me for someone who cares. I'll just wander off, you have fun.

Smokey Roan30 Jul 2013 1:03 p.m. PST

OK.

My grandmother told me to never play cards with guys named Doc or Smokey.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER30 Jul 2013 5:34 p.m. PST

Sounds like we had the same grandmother John, though mine added not to play against Vito and Rocco.

Smokey Roan30 Jul 2013 5:57 p.m. PST

I suck at cards. Being a basd sport is a disadvantage at cards. Hard to have a good Poker Face when you are mumbling about how bad your hand is :)

I am good at cheating with stacked decks and dealing from the bottom, but only against drunk girls. :)

They lost 5 offensive starters and 7 on defense. These included Damontre Moore who was their best defensive player and all American offensive linemen Luke Joeckel. I watched three of their games from last season. Johnny Football had some good blocking up front which enable him to get past the first line of defense and then make the Line backers miss. They also were very lucky and did not have any injuries to the starters. That rarely happens. They may not be that lucky this season. It is hard to go an entire season without major injuries to the Offensive line. Two things about the offensive line, one you cannot lose an all American tackle and not fall off a little and if any one of the others gets hurt you fall off even more. They do not have a hard schedule the way it looks now but you really don't know which team is going to have a turnaround season. LSU is going to be down this season. They lost their entire Senior Class plus eight juniors to the NFL draft. I don't think Auburn will be as bad as last season but they will not be any good. Arkansas will be a little better and Ole Miss and Miss State will struggle with A&M. Not saying they can beat A&M but I would say no at this point. Missouri surely will be better but I don't know if they have the studs to play in the SEC right now. The paly Vanderbilt who knows about them, they could win 10 games or they could lose 10 games. But if you base it on what A & M did last season and looking at who they play this season their only loss could be to Alabama. But I will go on the record and say they lose three games. I say they lose to Alabama, LSU, and one of the following. Ole Miss, Miss State, Vanderbilt or Missouri. Man they got lucky not having to play Florida, Georgia or South Carolina.

One other thing. Alabama is going to kill them this season. Alabama plays them their second game of the season. Alabama schedule an off week before they play them. Alabama never takes a week off that early. Alabama has Texas A&M towels at every work out station in the weight room. Like him or hate him Satan is the man when it comes to coaching college football and you give him time to plan for a game his team will whip you.

I don't know it will be the whipping they put on Notre Dame in the NC game but it will be ugly.

Good analysis. Thanks.
