Quite a few upsets, notably Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, and especially Roger Federer. Add to that the number of players including Victoria Azarenka and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who withdrew because of injury, there's a more drama at Wimbledon than usual this year.

And the first week isn't even over yet.

And another year that I haven't seen a single ball played !

Used to watch avidly – Mens, Womens, Doubles, Mixed Doubles. Last couple of years ? Nadda.

I never care unless it's one of the Williams sisters. It's a Texas thing.

Venus isn't in this one because of a back injury. Serena looks like she'll take it again, since Azarenka and Sharapova are both out. Still, a final between Serena and Li Na would be an interesting match.

On the men's side, Djokovich and Murray are doing well, as is Ferrer.

And Serena falls to Sabine Lisicki.

Upsets aren't a bad thing. They keep the top players from getting complacent, and it's nice to see new people in the later stages of the game once in a while. It's the number of upsets in a single tournament that's taken people by surprise.

Gotta wonder if Djokovich and/or Murray will make it to the final.

There will be a new champion in the Ladies' Singles, Sabine Lisicki and Marion Bartoli, neither of the players is ranked in the top ten.

Bartoli takes the Ladies' Singles Championship! She won quite handily too. I'm glad she won. She was the runner-up in 2007, when she lost to Venus Williams. Losing the champpionship twice would have really sucked.

Also, the Bryan brothers won the Gentlemen's Doubles Final. Now they hold all four Grand Slam titles at the same time. Too bad doubles matches don't get much coverage in the USA. The talking heads at ESPN kept mentioning about how all the Americans were eliminated. That was true for the singles matches, but they were right there at the doubles matches and won.

Britain's long wait is finally over as Murray takes the Championship!
