Michael C. Hayes, "Joan of Arc", 2010, oil on paper on board

This picture has been appearing on one of the banner ads at the top of the page, recolored and severely cropped. Mr. Hayes (whom I have not met) undoubtedly worked hard on the picture, and I wanted to share a better representation of it with TMP. Please, as a courtesy to the artists whose works you love, grant them due credit when linking.

The picture appears in the Spectrum 18 art anthology. Michael C. Hayes has a DeviantArt page as well:

Thanks for reading.

That's a Scottish "claymore", and she's probably too cute for Joan, but hey, it's a well done picture. I think she'd be kneeling or even prostrate on the floor in the form of the cross, but that's a quibble. Nice to see a real/male breastplate, and not some fantasy "armored breasts" thing. I think some effort at historical accuracy was made by Mr. Hayes….
