In the video below a man dress as a clown was spraying people with a squirtgun. He is a known troublemaker around city hall harrassing people. When approached by the patrolman they get into a brawl when the clown resists arrest.

In the early shots, the cop is taken by surprise and the clown in on top of him. The guy who took the video said in the interview that he saw a clown and a cop fighting and his first thought was that he had to get this on video.

What a tool.

You see a guy on top of a cop fighting him and your first thought is not to get out of your car and go to give assistance to the cop, but to get your phone out to record it? What if the clown had gotten the patrolman's weapon and shot him?

Would he say "Oh, I didn't think that would happen"? Cops deal with dangerous people who sometimes like to kill them. If you see them in trouble, give them a hand. The guy who took this video worthless bottom feeder.

On the other, the video is useful evidence in court. And how do you describe the other people who didn't help? None appeared in the video, but if he spraying people there must have been some.

Fact is, there are a lot of cases where people don't help these days. It's a sad part of modern society.

Fight the power, Krusty!

Maybe the guy who videod it thought it was a publicity stunt. It is quite surreal.

A couple of days ago a local man saw a man beating up on his female companion. He stepped forward to intervene and got knifed and bled to death before help could arrive. The only positive to come out of this is that the bad guy was caught later, still beating up on his woman and now faces capital murder charges.

I don't know if I would step in harm's way, the world is just too dang crazy.

Remember Patton… evil grin

The General would be in trouble today, even *with* a
CC permit (the incident happened, IIRC, in NYC).

Patton – the subordinate slapping, PTSD sufferer insulting, supply stealing, president ignoring lunatic that wanted to nuke China? That Patton? What about him.

Mapleleaf20 Nov 2012 12:29 p.m. PST

Hi Last Think you are confusing Patton and MacArthur
Patton had nothing to do with China and had no Presidential problems

I'm not sure how I'd react, but I suspect that given the opportunity I'd jump in and help the cop. Screw the video, my testimony and the cops should be good enough. The guy who shot the vid is more than a tool, but I'll refrain comment lest I get DH'd.

I'll say I'd hope to be helping the Police. But, in all honesty, I'd probably be standing there wondering just what the heck was going on.

Yeah, it would take a little while to figure out what the hell just happened I think. I mean you wouldn't think something like that was real if you just stumbled upon it. I would be looking for where the camera crew was. Then I'd be wondering if Bobcat Goldthwaite would sign an autograph for me.

in this day and age you are just as likely to be shot yourself by the clown or the copper, or, even more likely, be sued by one of the pair if you step into help. not a good idea to just wade in until you get a full picture of what is occuring.
