I was watching Castle last night and quite enjoying the episode
when I got to watch it that is. It seems we've moved from commercial interuptions of TV shows to entertainment interuptions of TV commercials. |

Shoot your television. Oh that's right, you can't

I only watch sports live on TV. The rest of the shows I record on the DVR and watch them later. Sometimes "later" is just 30 minutes later but no commercials and I have 30 minutes to do something else. |

The worst offender seems to be "Spike TV" a en's Cable Station we get in Toronto. They will take 90 minutes to broadcast an hour's show ( eg CSI )This meas that there are actually more commercials ( 50 mins) than show (40) |

My DVR has made my life so much more enjoyable. Zip right past those commercials. Trims a one-hour show down to about 40 minutes, too, which frees up more time for painting miniatures and gaming. |

Yeah, life without a DVR would be tough with commercials. Thanks, John |

American-style 'factual' programmes are even worse. They spend around 50% of the actual 'meat' of the programme telling you what you've already seen (and showing it to you AGAIN) and telling you what's coming up. |

Amen to that! I had a DVR before and would watch an active show and a recorded show at the same time. I'd watch the active show and then switch to the recorded when the commercials started and then switch back and forth, I only had to back up a minute or two when I switched back to a show to catch it all. I signed up for Huluplus, but you have to watch their commercials, there is no way to fast forward or skip them. What a rip off. |

My wife watches those dreadful fashion shows with Gok Wan. The whole show is a roundup of what is coming up, and a recap of what you have already seen. They get an hour ( it seems like longer) of TV out of 10 minutes of program. |

Ditto "Million Pound Drop" Typical (topical) question – Who was elected President of the united states today ? A – Barak Obama B – Dr Sheldon Copper C – William Shatner D – His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of God, Emperor of Ethiopia. Davina McCall (for it is she) "so, the question is
..and you've put all your money on A – very bold, a very brave and a very bold and brave decision, you've ignored Dr Sheldon Cooper. You've ignored William Shatner – although you weren't sure, there was some discussion about William Shatner I think, whilst you were deciding, that you discussed that a bit, and you've also put nothing on His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of God, Emperor of Ethiopia. Which leaves all your money on the first answer, very brave, very brave decision not to split the money at all, nothing for example on His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Elect of God, Emperor of Ethiopia. So
have
..you
made
the right
.decision ? Which answers will drop ? We'll
find out

I've seen some programs get cut short ("and the murderer is..", "GEICO"), even some commercials get that treatment. |

Hardly ever watch anything live except maybe the BBC, record everything else and FF through the adverts as everyone says an 60m recording is actually 40mins of the actual program. The old Tivo boxes were good for this as they actually recorded the program without the adverts. |

I was watching Highlander a week or two ago and that had a rigid "fifteen minutes have passed go to adverts" rule being applied, so just in the middle of a dramatic scene (or a fight) it's time to learn about cool shampoos. Thank the stars we have the BBC (no ad's on the BBC). |

Yes, Kelly's Heroes has a commercial inserted in a very crucial point every time it's on TV. Phillistines! |
