An odd question just out of curiosity. As a kid a friend and I raced a fair amount of HO slot cars. I have not done it in decades. I ran across an auction for HO cars while looking for some other gaming stuff. I always figured "HO Slot Cars" to be HO scale (1:87) or at least very close.

Different auctions I saw listed for the same HO slot car item stated "HO 1:87" and "HO 1:64". Was (is) there that much difference in the actual sizes? I know 1:87 is the HO scale and 1:64 is the Hot Wheels, Ertl and other common die cast toy size. I just don't remember the scale creep in slot racing. But then again, it has been many years.
