American actress Joan Taylor passed away on March 4. Born Rose Marie Emma in 1929, her most notable performances were on the tv series 'The Rifleman' as "Milly Scott", and in the classic '50s sci-fi movies 'Earth vs. the Flying Saucers' and '20 Million Miles to Earth'.

With Chuck Connors:

In 1996:

She was married to 'Hawaii Five-O' creator/producer Leonard Freeman from 1953 until his death in 1974, whereupon she began to manage the franchise under the name "Rose Freeman". She is survived by three daughters, two brothers, and six grandchildren.

Godspeed, Ms. Taylor, and thank you very, very much.

I believe she also appears in the documentary that comes with the Hawaii Five-Oh season 1 DVD boxed set. I didn't realize the link to her earlier name/work.

"Earth vs. the Flying Saucers" and "20 Million Miles to Earth" are two of my favorite films of all time.

It might sound like heresy, but I've always thought Ms. Taylor would have been a much better casting choice than Ann Robinson for the female lead in the 1953 "The War of the Worlds."

RIP, Ms. Taylor, and thanks for the films.
