I mentioned previously that I picked up some language software at a great price. However, to get the best use out of it, I need to add a microphone to my machine. The options I'm familiar with are: 1. Stand-alone microphone 2. Headset with built-in microphone 3. Microphone built into a webcam I was wondering, from those of you who have used language learning software, if you have any advice. |

No experience with language software but from years of using Skype, narrating powerpoints with Camtasia and two way video conferencing I would usually go with the headset with microphone. It does a better job of cutting down ambient background noise. |

Agree with Waco Joe. Just make sure the mike's boom can be moved away from your face/mouth. Regular headset rather than earbuds, also. |

If there's not much ambient noise a table microphone can be better. |
