I love my new iPad, but I want a way to carry it around without actually having to carry it around (that is, not by hand). My usual messenger bag is just too big and bulky, and I don't like backpacks unless I'm hiking/biking. The whole point of an iPad anyway is to have something that's not cumbersome. The Apple Store only seems to have protective cases/sleeves, not dedicated carrying bags. Anyone found a good solution? (Aside from the wife's purse.)

I carry my kindle DX in my work carryall du jour – either in my backpack, my clipboard (in the section that holds forms), or in my bucket o' equipment, depending on what I'm doing that day. I have a polycarbonate shell cover on it, so its scratch-proofed, and I can put it in a clear plastic sleeve (the bag the cover came in) so its water-resistant.

I keep my Kindle in a protective case, but just shove it into whatever bag I'm carring. I suppose if I had a jacket wth big enough pockets it could go in those.

I have a lot of bags of various shapes, sizes and purposes. A Kindle will not, however, fit into a WW2 German gas mask cannister:)

I live in DC now and here a dedicated bag like that says, "THIEVES – jump me for a great reward. Bonus: I'm probably carrying a wallet too."
They look cool though I'd keep it in a more non descript messenger bag.
