Cool.

I just accidentally found out that Window Media Player will play a CD and Rip it at the same time!
I've wanted to be able to do that for the longest time…

I've used a variety of Software tools (Real Player, MusicMatch Jukebox, and various versions of WMA) and this is the first time I have been able to simultaneously play a CD while it is being ripped. None of the other tools would do that.

And Maybe iTunes does it, but after spending a couple hours the other night retrieving and converting songs I had ripped using it, so that I could transfer them to a non iTunes device, I'll pass…

I have an earlier iTunes on an old Mac running OS 9, and it plays and rips simultaneously, too. But as an earlier version, it is an independent version that's not hogtied into the iTunes store. Never had a problem moving the MP3 files to other devices.

Of course, this is not an option that's available to a lot of people anymore, but I sure love it. Never updating that puppy, even if I could at this point grin
