Had anybody tried these Four LoCo drinks? Are they really a 'blackout in a can'? How are they compared to other energy drink/beers (i.e. Sparks, Twiztids, etc
)?

RedBull with a double of your favorite poison seems to have the same effect |

12% Alcohol + the caffine from 3-4 cups of coffee + 100% of B-complex vitamins + some other stuff + sugar in a 24 oz can with graphics similar to Iced Tea Cans. Sparks had 8.5% Alcohol and is in a 16 oz can. B to the E was in an 8 oz can that looked like a beer can. |

Illegal here now, because bureaucrats are drama queens with limited reasoning capacity. I can still get an Irish Coffee, though, because that's somehow different. I find that energy drinks are gross tasting (to me), so I never had the urge to try the stuff. I'm confident that it wasn't any more dangerous than plenty of other products out there, though, and that the drinking habits of the idiot kids who got hurt/killed were the real problem, and still are. -Kle. |

Back in November, there was a tragic DWI accident linked to underaged teens purchasing and consuming Four Loko drinks, which led to the death of a local 14-year old girl. The 22-year old convenience store owner who sold the drinks was arrested and charged with allowing the kids to purchase the product. I can do without alcohol, energy drinks, or whatever adulterated swill is sold out there, but the Four Loko drinks are brightly packaged, just like any other energy drink that's become so popular these days. Kids are gonna try to score a hit if they can, and responsibility to protect them lies squarely on the parents, and yes, on the store owners that can prevent their sale to minors. But, the company that produces them should also take the responsibility, to some degree, to stop subconsciously marketing these drinks to kids. Dropping my 2¢ in the kitty. |
